This ambitious program of our Committee builds on the existing collaboration between the IDB and the Spanish Government, and CEA Digital Law wishes to contribute to the knowledge management that always informs our activities.
The idea arose in the wake of that MOU:
In Spain, the “Plan Justicia 2030” (Justice 2030 Plan) is the most ambitious program ever conceived for the administration of justice since the Spanish transition to democracy.
…Data-driven intelligence, the electronic court file and citizens’ digital access to justice services are key elements of the Plan.
Spain is an international benchmark in digital justice, and that is why the Inter-American Development Bank– IDB – has signed, through its President, Mauricio Claver-Carone, together with Spain’s Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation between both institutions on the digitalization of the administration of justice, knowledge and training of legal practitioners and the development of the rule of law, international legal cooperation and the promotion of human rights.
This MOU lays the foundation for a stable and positive collaboration for the mutual benefit of both institutions, as well as of the public and justice administrations of the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Justice Offices in Spanish municipalities are one of the key elements of the organizational reform on which the Ministerio de Justicia (Ministry of Justice) is already working, structured through the future organizational efficiency law, which, together with the future procedural efficiency law and digital efficiency law, form the core pillars of the Justice 2030 plan.
For its part, the Euro-American Committee of Digital Law – CEA Digital Law has virtual offices for inter-institutional third-sector collaboration to replicate models of aid and self-help in the least developed countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
