Femtech

Femtech — technology applied to women’s health and well-being — is one of the fastest-growing sectors of the digital economy, and it raises first-order legal questions: health data, privacy, medical-device regulation and algorithmic bias.

The legal dimension

Health data protection — special categories of data under the GDPR and equivalent regimes.
Apps and devices — the regulatory framework for medical software and wearables.
Privacy by design — building women’s trust into the product itself.
Equality and bias — auditing algorithms trained on non-representative data.

Our approach

Through the Women’s Digital Law programme we follow the evolution of the femtech sector and its regulation on both sides of the Atlantic, bringing the legal community and women professionals closer to a sector that concerns them directly.
