On 10 March 2021, the launch of the national campaign “Por un País Libre de Armas Autónomas: la Tecnología al Servicio de la Paz” will take place online via Facebook Live in Costa Rica. The event, scheduled from 09:00 to 17:00, is organised by MICITT and FUNPADEM.
It will be supported by University for Peace, Universidad de Costa Rica, Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, SEHLAC, Cruz Roja Costarricense and the Euro-American Committee of Digital Law - CEA Digital Law. Jody Williams, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and activist with the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, will speak at the event.
The broadcast will be streamed live from the Facebook pages of the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and FUNPADEM. CEA Digital Law and its Costa Rica Node will take part in the presentation of this national initiative.
