Universidad Santiago de Cali brought together students from virtual programs to explain the research resources available to them. The session aimed to widen student participation in research groups and projects through the virtual modality.

Universidad Santiago de Cali (Colombia) held an information session for students in its virtual programs in Administración de Empresas, Mercadeo y Publicidad, Contaduría Pública, Derecho and Ingeniería de Sistemas. Its aim was to present the institutional strategies, opportunities and resources available to promote academic research and student participation.

Anisbed Naranjo Rojas, director of the Dirección General de Investigaciones (DGI), outlined the lines of action, calls for proposals and tools available for developing projects. She also highlighted the opportunities for professors and students to take part. Professor Jonathan Pelegrín Ramírez, of the Facultad de Educación, joined as a guest and shared his research experience, speaking about scientific culture, critical thinking and innovation. He currently represents the institution in an international exchange placement.

The session was also attended by program directors Natalia Peláez López and John Edwin González Rengifo, of the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales, María Isabel Peña Cuervo, of the Facultad de Derecho, and María Isabela Galvis, of the Facultad de Ingeniería. They stressed the importance of coordinated work between the faculties and the DGI to bring professors and students into research seedbeds and projects.

According to the university, one of the main outcomes was the students' interest in learning about the research seedbeds of the participating faculties. The institution maintains that digital tools make it easier to access information and collaborate, and that research is open to its whole academic community, regardless of study modality.
