CEA DIGITAL LAW

Hackathon Business

A THE LAW FACTORY TOOL

Hackathon Business

Lawyers and technologists,
on the same team.

Hackathon Business brings together two industries that have long turned their backs on each other, technology and law, to boost entrepreneurship and innovation in the legal sector.

Teams mix programmers, lawyers and other legal professionals, and work on a real challenge from the legal world: for example, legal process automation, access to justice, digital evidence, digital identity, regulatory compliance, privacy, dispute resolution or decision-support tools.

HOW IT WORKS

From challenge to project

  1. 1

    A challenge

A specific legal problem, proposed by CEA Digital Law, an institution, a company or the community itself.

  2. 2

    A mixed team

Programmers, lawyers, researchers and students from several countries, supported by the Tech Areas and the Nodes.

  3. 3

    Working together

With a shared goal, methodology and timetable.

  4. 4

    A project

A tool or a prototype presented at a network event.

And afterwards: if a project deserves to continue, The Law Factory takes it further. A hackathon does not have to end on Sunday afternoon.
