Inesdi Digital Business School, in collaboration with Incipy and Indigital Advantage, have presented the sixth edition of the Top 25 Digital Professions 2018 Study.

With the aim of gaining an in-depth understanding of the evolution of companies’ digital transformation from the perspective of the most in-demand digital positions, in order to help organisations and citizens distinguish between the various digital professions of the moment, identifying the most suitable profile for each company, according to its needs and growth expectations, as well as for each professional according to their skills and motivations.

Top 25 Digital Professions 2018 Study

The Top 25 Digital Professions 2018 identifies the ranking of the digital professions most in demand among companies over the past year, detailing the mission of each one, its functions, skills and salary level. The study was compiled from an analysis of 313 job offers published on Inesdi’s job board or managed by Indigital Advantage’s headhunting service for digital and technology profiles, coming from a total of 215 companies.

The digital profiles most requested by companies over the past year are the Digital Marketing Manager, Community Manager, Digital Account Manager, Social Media Manager and the SEO & SEM Specialist.

The notable growth in demand for profiles related to content generation stands out. But creating content is no longer enough; it is necessary to optimise, measure, analyse and manage the data obtained, hence the importance being gained by positions related to SEO, SEM and Data Analytics. Additionally, the number of professionals specialising in cybersecurity is increasing in view of the entry into force of the new General Data Protection Regulation.

On the other hand, there has been a notable increase in the demand for digitally expert sales profiles. As a result, the Digital Account Manager, added to the ranking last year, rises this year to third place.

In an environment with increasingly disruptive and exponential technologies such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, robotics, blockchain and 3D printing, the business models of practically every sector are being transformed. And it requires that, as leaders, we exercise a new kind of leadership and, as professionals, we train ourselves with a mindset of continuous learning rather than of simply knowing.

As organisations, we must train our teams, attract new talent, innovate in the organisation and in the workplace… all in order to achieve an open, innovative, connected, flexible, collaborative and agile culture capable of envisioning the new business opportunities that new technologies can bring, in a reality in which the only constant will be change.
