The implementation of regulations that facilitate the provision of services related to cryptoactives has stimulated the participation of banks in these markets. In addition, the presence of non-banking entities, such as fintech and bigtech, in the field of financial services, together with the issuance of digital currencies (CBDC), the tokenization of financial instruments and the growth of decentralised finance (DeFi), add complexity to this dynamic.<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><br \/>\nImportant questions arise: What should be the role of banks in this new environment? What forms of money will prevail in the next few years? Should banking compete, collaborate or give land to DeFi? What should be the response of banks to the imminent tokenization of real assets (RWA)? Does tokenization represent a fundamental change in the banking business model?
