She is also a member of the Board of the Bar Association.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Lubna is a senior attorney at Legal Swan Petitors in Birmingham. She specializes in discipline and professional regulation. She also mediates civil and family disputes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Lubna said:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span> \u201cIt is a great honor to be chosen for this position. I hope to face future challenges and work together with other officials and staff. I am proud to be a lawyer and I am well aware of the problems facing our profession and the public at this exceptionally difficult time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI want to help our members face these challenges, while making sure that the profession maintains its prominence at the national and international levels, through various campaigns that include access to justice and the rule of law.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span>Simon Davis, president of the Law Society, said: <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span>&#8220;I want to extend my sincere congratulations to Lubna Shuja, who emerged as the winner of an extremely strong field of candidates. I wish her all the best for her three years as the holder of a position.&#8221;<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><span>Notes for Editors<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>The Bar Association has three elected officials: the President, the Vice-President and the Deputy Vice-President, each holding office for one year. Each year, the Council elects the Deputy Vice-President; the Deputy Vice-President of the previous year becomes Vice-President and the Vice-President becomes President.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The transfer takes place at the annual general meeting, which has now been moved to October.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The incumbents of the positions are the main ambassadors of the Law Society and represent the organization in the country and abroad.
