China’s Supreme People’s Court is stepping up its efforts to build a judicial blockchain platform to better preserve evidence, and courts, judicial forensics centers and notarial offices in many provinces and cities have joined the platform, local media Beijing Youth Daily reported today.<\/p>\n
Some 180 million elements have been retained. Blockchain data and forensic verification can be carried out through technology, revealed the superior court at a recent meeting, according to the report.<\/p>\n
The court has devised a set of technical requirements to guide and regulate the data management of the lower Chinese courts in evidentiary blockchains, according to the report, citing Chen Baogui, director of the division ofData management of the supreme court information center.<\/p>\n
Digital evidence is defined as information and data of value for an investigation or judicial proceeding that is stored, received or transmitted by an electronic device. It may consist, for example, of fingerprint scans or other images, DNA records, paper copies of legal, corporate, scientific or personal documents, computer codes, but it may take a lot of other forms. The Internet Tribunal in the technological city of Hangzhou, in eastern China, completed the country’s first judicial blockchain platform in September.
