Digital Transformation<\/strong> is the lever that drives the economy and society of the 21st century. Broadly speaking, it is the application of digital capabilities across every sphere of life. It is a whole that encompasses the human facets of development, and within it Industry 4.0<\/strong> stands out for its importance \u2014 the digital transformation of the industrial sector. It refers in particular to the practical IMPLEMENTATION of the PRINCIPLES of the Fourth Industrial Revolution<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The disruptive circle, the “container”, is therefore the Fourth Industrial Revolution: a technological, social, economic, political and cultural phenomenon that has been developing since the 18th century (after a triad of Industrial Revolutions) and from which Digital Transformation receives its great impulse in this latest one.<\/p>\n

With the exponential nature of this Revolution, which increases the fluidity of roles, it also widens gender gaps \u2014 and we do not refer only to the limited access to STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning skills, but also to the fact that horizontal and occupational segregation becomes more evident.<\/p>\n

New forms of violence against women<\/em><\/strong> appear, such as cyberviolence, which ultimately almost always leads to the usual forms of violence as well, preventing women from being free to exercise their rights and enjoy equal opportunities in life.<\/p>\n

The Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women<\/a> was adopted by the UN General Assembly on 20 December 1993, and 25 November<\/strong> was designated for its commemoration and visibility.<\/p>\n

As for Human Rights<\/em><\/strong>, which are protected offline, with the arrival of a technology that engulfs everything they now have an unprecedented new framework of action, since the defence of citizens now faces a new digital enemy.<\/p>\n

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights<\/a> was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December<\/strong> 1948.<\/p>\n

The full and equal participation of women in all areas of society is a fundamental human right. Yet, throughout the world, women are considerably under-represented \u2014 from politics and entertainment to the workplace. Achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment is an integral part of each of the 17 SDGs<\/a> \u2014 Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong> \u2014 an initiative promoted by the United Nations.<\/p>\n

The Society 5.0 initiative<\/strong> of the Government of Japan seeks to use emerging technologies to create a “super-smart” cyber-physical society that is more “human-centred” than our current information society.<\/p>\n

The Japanese Society 5.0 initiative, in essence, seeks to take the technologies used by Industry 4.0 \u2014 which focus on applying emerging technologies to improve effectiveness \u2014 but counterbalances that commercial emphasis<\/em><\/strong> by applying emerging technologies related to social robotics, embedded artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, ambient intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, and advanced human-computer interfaces, in order to qualitatively improve the lives of individual human beings and benefit society as a whole by “creating equal opportunities for all people”.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The vision of Society 5.0 requires us to rethink two kinds of relationships: the relationship between technology and society<\/strong> and the technology-mediated relationship between individuals and society<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Euro-American Committee of Digital Law \u2014 CEA Digital Law<\/a> is a Non-Governmental Organization that seeks to bring together the legal world, in all its facets, with the technological and techno-legal world.<\/p>\n

Even so, and because Digital Transformation affects the whole of society, that multifaceted character is embraced by CEA Digital Law \u00ae from the outset, encompassing organized civil society<\/em> as a whole and in every sphere where knowledge can be managed. It is therefore aligned with a Society 5.0 in which technology can be an enabler of equal opportunities for all people without distinction. The innovation, the technology and the new legal pragmatism proposed by CEA Digital Law \u00ae offer unprecedented opportunities to break trends and reach those most at risk of being left behind. We have a solemn commitment to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations<\/a>, to international law and justice, and to an international order based on the rule of law, which are the indispensable foundations of a more peaceful, prosperous and just world.<\/p>\n

On 25 November and 10 December 2020<\/strong> we have two major dates that need wide outreach; and while the commemoration of Human Rights inherently encompasses that of 25 November, it is no less true that the former needs its own visibility.<\/p>\n

Event “25N\u201310D: Women 4.0 \u2013 Society 5.0”<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Euro-American Committee of Digital Law \u2014 CEA Digital Law \u00ae will broadcast various events that bring us closer to women in their daily work<\/em><\/strong>, but we also want to pay express tribute to the Associations<\/em><\/strong> that, in every sphere, make the world more bearable for the daily activism of the community we refer to. The event will be held under the motto: “25N\u201310D: Women 4.0 \u2013 Society 5.0”.<\/p>\n

The mission of CEA Digital Law \u00ae goes beyond the political sphere and is neutral; it is bound only by the academic freedom of the speakers and the representatives of institutions and organizations taking part in this event. The event will comprise: an institutional session on 25 November 2020<\/strong> with institutional acts by the representatives of organizations or branches of the State and others; a second institutional event on 10 December<\/strong> under the same premises; and, from 26 November to 9 December,<\/strong> individual presentations by women who so wish, whether or not they belong to the aforementioned associations.<\/p>\n
